Pieter Ceizer

Pieter Ceizer is a Dutch typographical artist and designer based in Paris, Known for his whimsy line and letter drawings as well as bold colorful abstract compositions. He works in various media such as canvas, wood, metal and screen printing.

Pieter started skateboarding at the age of 11 at the old Museumplein square in Amsterdam, in the 90s this was a meeting point for skaters, graffiti artists, punks and rebels. While skating at Museumplein as a young kid, Pieter got inspired by the colorful letter artworks and ‘pieces’ made by local graffiti artists on the back of the half-pipes.

Soon after Ceizer started writing his name over town with a small marker and doing his first pieces in spray paint. After a short ‘carreer’ in graffiti, Ceizer went to The Royal Academy Of Arts In The Hague, where he studied graphic design and typography.

Ceizer his life-size sculptures have been displayed in places like Museumplein in Amsterdam, while his typographic designs appear on roll-up shutters across Paris. He has exhibited alongside artists such as Takashi Murakami, KAWS, and Daniel Arsham at Joopiter’sJust Phriends and has had his work auctioned at Sotheby’s next to renowned names like Robert Indiana and Karel Appel.
